On April, 13, 1873, the Detroit Tribune building at 42 Larned Street was damaged by a fire. Its roof and a portion of the wall along the two upper floors are shown here destroyed, as the steeple of St. Paul’s Protestant Episcopal Church rises behind the ruins.
