  3. Detroit is a fun city with lots to enjoy but sadly they have some of the most visible poverty and all it's related issues, not far from downtown and it's disheartening to see this in America, a place so rich in so many ways (not just prosperity, but it's people and resources, etc). The clean water issue was what brought so much negative press to Detroit in the past few years.

  11. I grew up in Ohio and had no idea that Tim Horton's was NOT a thing everywhere until I moved to Hawai'i. Now I live in Wyoming and and every time I go back to Ohio, I get Tim Horton's. Tim Bits are the best!

  12. Ugh I miss Tim Hortons over here in Rhode Island. From what I understand as Tim Hortons was expanding in the U.S. there were major lawsuits against the parent company. With that, along with the challenges in the U.S. market, they decided to pull back the expansion. Boooo they had the best soup.

  13. The building that looks like a giant cheese grater that was behind Tyler when ya'll were walking to the Guardian is my office building (The Chase building/The Qube) There is so much to see and do in Detroit now; the difference in just the past 7 years that I've worked downtown is absolutely astounding. There's still a long way to go, but there are a lot of people who put time and care into it. I hope ya'll come back and check out some of the the other cool stuff we have around here!

  17. The Guardian building is so beautiful! It's such a rare treat to see a building with a little bit of architectural interest and craftsmanship these days! Where I live (in Boston) every new building that goes up is a big grey square that looks like a shipping container.

  26. If you guys come back to the Detroit area you HAVE to go to The Henry Ford in Dearborn. It is the coolest museum; they even have the chair Lincoln was shot in, the Rosa Parks bus, and much more! You would love the Greenfield Village part too…long story short, Google it! Highly recommend πŸ™‚
